A novel design method for TPMS lattice structures with complex contour based on moving elements method

Over the past few decades, there have been many important achievements on design, research, and development of minimal surface lattice structures. In this work, we propose a modeling method for triply periodic surfaces (TPMS) structures with complex contours. This is based moving elements (MEM) mainly includes following parts: dividing model mesh, solving iso-surface TPMS in model, obtaining structure triangular outline, integrating interior finally generating an STL file that can be used additive manufacturing. Furthermore, representative femur rabbit gear are provided as case studies to verify validity correctness proposed method. Then, approach compared distance field-based (DFBM) terms speed accuracy. The research results show time required by MEM was reduced 3055.56%, 2799.70% DFBM method, when filling network primitive gyroid model. Moreover, provides technical means simulation data designing contour, offers underlying design ideas application excellent physical properties medicine engineering.
